This demo is posted for the pirate Jam 15. Would love it if you can comment your thoughts there: https://itch.io/jam/pirate/rate/2864507

Falling through his basement floor, our Tim finds himself in an old abandoned mine far below. Finding his way up the dark caverns he discovers that things are not as they seem. With newly discovered powers, our protagonist must complete challenges to climb out of his dark fate.

This is 2D platformer prototype where the player can toggle platforms and hazards on and off.

Please tell me your thoughts about the game, also please share your best time. I'm at 492 seconds currently.

Movement with a great precision! Nice work man!

Thank you. Glad you liked it.

Great game love the artistic choics

and the dust particle effect really sells it

I really had fun and was waiting for all the mechanics to come together. then I got to the boss fight. I had to literally stop. I don't have epilepsy but I highly recommend a seizure warning. there is a lot of rapid flashing that can translate over during death making the problem worse. I had a lot of confusion throughout the game of what I can and cannot fall through. I really wanted to finish this game but I could not due to the consistent flashing back and forth. I liked the different mechanics it was nice to get the hang of things. some controller support would be nice but not major. if you fix the flashing let me know id love to come back and do a full playthrough!!

Sure. It was almost the last level so you played most of the demo. Thank you for playing and commenting.

You are correct about adding a warning and I'll do so (Added to the comment but I'll add to the game as well). I'm not sure how I can mitigate the issue. If I allow the user to pick a low contrast or maybe even change the colors from dark grey and light grey to 2 different colors with the same intensity it might solve it. I don't know enough about the subject, but I'll do my reserch.

Please let me know if you have ideas about it or the game in general. You played the grand majority of the game but I intended to make it a much longer game in the future that better use the mechanics. So if I can get good input early that would help a ton.

By the way, this game needs to be played fullscreen, when it's in windowed mode it cuts off the sides and some parts become unbeatable because you don't know there's a wall there you can jump off

Yeah, I saw that. I need to figure that one out. Maybe some settings in the engine build system or the upload page are wrong.

Vey solid precision platformer! Very fluid movement. Quite challenging, but not unfair. Got all 13 collectibles but it took me 1820 seconds :')
Reminds me a lot of Celeste!

Wow that's great, thanks for playing. This game is a work in progress. This is the demo for the mechanics, I will defintly expend it in the future.
